I am very passionate about Early Childhood Development! It is so important to stimulate children from a very early age, and it does not need to be very expensive or very difficult.

I am very lucky to work with a trained early childhood development teacher and fellow mom who will share some easy-to-implement ideas with us to have fun with your children while helping them to develop their different sensory systems! Thank you Jenna from Busy_Bubs_Play ! Click the link to follow her on Instagram.

Follow the blogposts from the drop-down menu or see the category Playdough below for all the ideas.

First up a Playdough recipe… thank you Micha for sharing the recipe that you make almost on a daily basis for your kids! Micha said that they always make double the amount to have enough to go around for all three her kids, and that they use a gel-based colouring afterwards, but that you can also use foodcolouring during the cooking process.

  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 Tbs Creme of Tartare
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tbs Cooking oil
  • Food colouring of choice

Mix all the ingredients in a pot and stir CONTINUOUSLY over a low heat until the mixture comes together in a ball. Allow to cool completely and cover in cling wrap. Store in an airtight container.

Playdough is great for the development of FINE MOTOR skills, HAND-EYE-COORDINATION, VISION, FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS, CREATIVE PLAY and SOCIAL skills. The sky is the limit!

Have fun with your playdough and please share photo’s / stories of your little one learning! Check back soon for our next idea!
